Megan Borris Photography

Hi, I’m Megan.

If you’ve made it here, you probably already know this:

I don’t believe photos need to feel stiff, performative, or uncomfortable to be meaningful.

I’m a lifestyle photographer based in Belleville, Ontario, and a mother myself - which means I understand just how quickly life moves. One day you’re in the thick of it, and the next you’re wondering where the time went. Photography became my way of slowing things down.

I didn’t grow up knowing photography would be my career. What I’ve always been drawn to is people - the way families move together, the quiet strength of motherhood, the chaos and tenderness that exist side by side in real life.

Most of the people who step in front of my camera tell me the same thing:

“I’m awkward in photos.”

That doesn’t worry me.

Awkward usually just means human.

My role isn’t to force moments or chase perfection. It’s to create a calm, unhurried space where you can settle in, connect, and be present. The best images tend to show up when nothing is being pushed -when kids are allowed to be kids, parents are allowed to breathe, and moments unfold naturally.

If you’re looking for someone to tell you exactly how to stand and smile on cue, I might not be the right fit. But if you want photographs that feel honest - that hold emotion, movement, and meaning - you’re in the right place.

This work matters to me because these seasons don’t last.

And being able to remember them — really remember them — is something I’ll never take lightly.
